Benton Smith

Benton graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and a minor in English. After graduation, Benton worked for a land developer (Bright Realty) for six years where he learned residential and commercial horizontal development, including master-planned communities and Public Improvement District projects. His experience extends to management in and around open spaces as well as managing the construction of manufactured housing developments throughout Texas.

He believes that parks and open spaces are an essential part of community and healthy living. He considers himself forever adapting—understanding there are processes and challenges that are specific to each project and emphasizing optimal use of time and resources for success. He is passionate about efficiency, problem solving, and building strong relationships, all to ensure productive outcomes.

Outside of his professional life, Benton enjoys a lifestyle centered around his affinity for nature, health, and wellness. He embraces this lifestyle through continuous education, being active, and traveling. In addition to backpacking, overlanding, and long boarding, he exercises his creative muscles through DIY projects, videography, and art. His happy place is where his chances of being lost are high, cell reception is low, music is up, and windows are down.
