LAND CLEARING
Open Space TX is excited to introduce an eco-friendly and highly cost effective method for clearing vegetation using goats and sheep. We've successfully partnered with municipalities, land developers, private landowners, HOAs, and utility districts across North Texas to enhance park trails, provide safer amenities, improve forest health, reduce risks for maintenance crews, and effectively manage fuel reduction loads.
Goats manage invasive plants such as poison ivy, poison oak and privet. Goats remove excessive vegetation to allow undergrowth to receive more sunlight and natural fertilization. Goats reduce the risk of fires by removing underbrush.
PRAIRIE RESTORATION
Goats and sheep are ideal for prairie mowing in the fall. They reduce excessive biomass, help cycle nutrients, and aid in native seed dispersal. This approach promotes a healthy, diverse ecosystem and improves fire safety.
Brush & Understory Clearing - Goats are natural browsers and will consume invasive shrubs and woody understory plants such as privet, honeysuckle, greenbriar, and poison ivy. They thrive in tangled, hard-to-reach areas that are dangerous or impossible for machines to access.
LITTER REMOVAL
Once vegetation has been cleared, litter that was previously unreachable is visible and accessible. Open Space TX provides professional litter removal services that help restore the natural beauty of public and private spaces. EROSION CONTROL INSPECTION
